My Doggies Daycare
Many
people have asked why we opened My Doggies
Daycare. For each of us, this is a dream
come true. Absolutely. We have a genuine, heartfelt
love of all animals; especially dogs. To work
in an environment where we get to play with a
multitude of breeds and personalities every day
is wonderful!
When
it comes to me personally, I would say it started
with my Midwest upbringing…
and the fact
that my family adopted every stray in the neighborhood.
I’ve always had an affinity for our four
legged friends. I volunteered for years with the
local humane society, and my heart went out to
every one of the endearing rescues.
After
my divorce in 2003, I moved to RSM with my daughter
and our large Weimaraner named Crichton. Suddenly,
instead of half an acre to play on, he had my
little cement patio. Dog daycare seemed to be
a good solution, but when I checked into several
facilities in the area I was disappointed. Either
the customer service was poor, or the facility
smelled, or the fees were too high.
When
I needed overnight boarding I found some places
where Crichton could actually have his own little
room – complete with a bed and TV (neither
of which he would really use) but to my dismay
he would only be taken out twice a day for a walk.
There was no real playtime or socialization with
other dogs.
So,
I spent a year “making do” with what
was available, all the time mulling over the idea
of opening a facility. After consulting with various
experts, and researching pet care options across
the country, I knew this was something I had to
pursue. Another year of research and planning
followed, and then everything fell into place
when Denise, Angie and Nicole, and our first trainer
Sue all came on board. We shared a tremendous
affection and concern for our canine friends,
and felt the local residents would welcome a choice
in dog daycare and boarding.
Once
the various permits and licenses required by the
City and Animal Services were obtained, we opened My Doggies Daycare in October
of ’05. We’ve been pleasantly surprised
by the warm reception and overwhelming community
support. Business has boomed…so much so
that we recently looked into expansion. But after
a lot of careful consideration, we decided against
it. Too many dogs in one space can cause problems,
and it becomes difficult to give that individual
attention. None of us got into this business to
get rich. We simply wanted to provide a safe and
loving atmosphere with lots of one-on-one attention
for the dogs.
So
here we are! MDD will never be
the biggest or the flashiest facility around,
but hopefully we’ll always be number one
with our canine friends!

If
I could have looked ahead 10 years ago and seen
my life now… I wouldn’t have believed
it! Coming from the corporate world of high stress
and deadlines, who would have guessed I’d
be spending my days playing ball with dogs of
all different colors, breeds and personalities.
Giving doggie bubble baths and yes, mopping up
puppy piddles and poo. I wouldn’t have believed
it.
In
the past, I missed out on several vacations and
weekend trips because I didn’t want to leave
my golden retriever, Brodie, in a crate for any
length of time. My sons use to say, “Mom,
he’s just a dog”. Though I knew that,
I had a hard time thinking of him cooped up in
a crate, while I was out having fun. May sound
silly to some, but I know several of you can relate.
When
I had an opportunity to become involved with My
Doggies Daycare, I was elated. Just imagine…a
place where dogs could romp, run, play and interact
with other nonagressive dogs all day, while their
owners could rest easy knowing their dog was probably
having more fun than they are! Now that was the
kind of business I wanted to be a part of.
I
truly love being your pup’s “home
away from home”, even if it is just for
an afternoon. You know that feeling, when you
arrive home and your canine friend runs to you
wagging his tail, so happy to see you? How would
you like to walk into 50+ dogs all doing that
to you at once? It’s positively a rush.
I
work in the facility on a daily basis and when
I first make my way through the pack I acknowledge
each and every one of them. It’s amazing
how they perk up when you call them by name. Sound
silly? No… these guys and gals love human
attention and affection as much as they do socializing
with their own kind.
I'm
honored to be able to spend time with them and
get to know their individual personalities. If
I had known the rewards of My Doggies
Daycare ten years ago, I would have done
it then!

(Certified Pet Dog Trainer)
Office Manager
My Doggies Daycare
Since 2008, My Doggies Daycare has helped me start most days with a room full of barking, wagging, four-legged friends--more than I ever thought I could get from a career. It's been a wonderful change from being stuck in a boring office 40 hours a week! Even more amazing, though, has been the opportunity to grow and develop, both as an employee and as an individual. I started as part-time floor staff and worked my way up through pretty much every position on my way to office manager. This has given me the opportunity to get to know so many awesome dogs, as well as their wonderful owners.
Dog behavior has always been a fascination of mine and what better way to learn about it than to basically live with such a well-integrated and socialized pack? Just being with dogs all the time has taught me so much about the amazing way they live life fully in the moment, experiencing and enjoying everything they can. The more I learn about dogs, the more I love and appreciate them. Every day is a new and exciting experience, and I couldn't ask for more!
If that weren't enough, My Doggies Daycare has helped grow my family--I wouldn't have either of my dogs (Splat! and Boom) without MDD. Splat! was a rescue, found by one of my coworkers. Boom was formerly a client of ours, but was in need of a new home. They're the best dogs I could hope for, and it's thanks to MDD that I found them.
Now that I've settled into my new role as office manager, I've enjoyed the opportunity to help clients in any way I could while still getting to know and love their pups. If you have any questions about MDD, your dog, or dogs in general, don't hesitate to ask!

Operations Manager
My Doggies Daycare
A little personal information: I have two adorable dogs of my own, Doxie/Chihuahua mixes named Chip and Dale. Spending time with my friends and family is most important to me. I also enjoy playing soccer, watching a good baseball game or having a fun night out with friends. I dream of one day opening my own Doggie Daycare facility!
I have been in the Animal Health Care Field for over 10 years.
My career first started at another pet care facility in the Orange County area while also working for a vet in Irvine as a receptionist and vet tech. I was trained in
first aid and cpr for dogs; taught to give medication and react quickly in emergency situations.
Unfortunately my father became very sick and I had to leave these positions to be able to take care of him. After his health improved, I found myself in the job market again. Luckily I replied to an ad from My Doggies Daycare. I was contacted later the next day and asked to come in for a trial and the rest is history. I have never been happier. This is my new family and I love everyone. I hope you will stop by so I can introduce myself and we can show you what makes MDD the best facility around!

Courtney Kuechlin
Operations Facilitator
My Doggies Daycare
Ever since I was a little girl I have always had a special love for animals. My family would tease me, calling me “Courtney, the Animal Whisperer”, claiming that I had the ability to talk to animals.
When I was in high school, a friend told me about My Doggies Daycare, and I knew that it was exactly the right place for me. For the last 5 years, I have literally worked every job from the bottom up to reach my current position.
I am truly passionate about what I do here at MDD, whether it be working in the back and cleaning out kennels, or answering customer’s questions on the phone; I love my job!
One of the best parts of working here is the ability to be near Apollo, my super handsome German shepherd mix. Apollo and I are excited to be here at MDD, and look forward to greeting new and familiar faces in the office every day. Because of my love for Apollo, I understand that you, as a parent, only want the best for your dog. I promise that your four legged friend is going to receive the best quality care while here at My Doggies Daycare. Please do not hesitate to call or stop by and say hello. Let me know if there is anything that I can do to make sure that you and your pup have the best experience.

Tom Sawyer
Operations Facilitator
My Doggies Daycare
Hello, my name is Tom Sawyer, and yes it really is! I have been with My Doggies Daycare for over four years now and have worked in all the various areas; playrooms, kennels, front office and now I am an Operations Facilitator. (That means I make sure everyone stays on their toes!)
It is an awesome feeling to be able to bring my own dogs to work and also to work with others who are just as passionate about animals as I am. Both my co-workers and all the terrific dogs have made it a truly rewarding experience.
I’ll admit, when I came in for my first day of work at MDD I didn’t know what to expect and was a little bit nervous. But when I stepped into one of our playrooms, all of my emotions quickly transformed into joy. To be able to spend time with and take care of these furry friends is an incredible feeling that I have had from day one and it has stayed with me ever since. Each night I am left with a face full of slobber and a heart full of love!
I encourage all newcomers to give us a try. I promise you will be genuinely amazed by the warmth and caring of all of the staff at My Doggies Daycare. We truly want to be your pets “home away from home”.

Mona Fraser
Kennel Supervisor
My Doggies Daycare
Hey there everyone, my name is Mona! I had been working with animals as a vet technician for over 10 years before coming to My Doggies Daycare and now have been with MDD for almost 2 years.
I guess you could say I am a bit of an animal fanatic, because I don't think I could take a job where I wouldn't be near an
animal. I truly feel blessed to be able to work with the great
dogs we have staying here, so you bet I'll be coming in with a smile.
As one of MDD's Kennel Supervisors it's my job to make sure all of the dogs get their food, medications, sleep, and of course love. Come on over and bring your furry friend, and I promise we will do our utmost to ensure they have a terrific stay with us!

Lauren Kishi
Kennel Supervisor
Bather/Groomer in training
My Doggies Daycare
As a little girl I spent many weekends with my grandfather who taught me to love all creatures. We would take walks around the neighborhood catching frogs or petting the stray cats and dogs that came our way. As I grew older he always encouraged me to work with animals - prehaps with a rescue group or the local animal shelter.
When I rescued my pup Smokey from an abusive home a couple of years ago, MDD turned out to be the perfect place to help with his separation anxiety. Smokey comes to the daycare with me each day and while I'm working, he gets to play and socialize with his friends. The result? I have a happy pup who has learned how to play well and is tired out and more relaxed when he gets home at the end of the day.
I can honestly say that working here has been one of the most rewarding jobs I've ever had. I am a Kennel Supervisor, a front office assistant (you may have seen me getting your dog for you at pick up!) and a "groomer in training". I enjoy the different roles and feel lucky to be here and spend time with of all of our adorable dogs. I also love giving them baths and sending a fresh clean pup home to happy parents!

Sophie Nicot
Kennel Supervisor
My Doggies Daycare
As far back as I can remember I have had a passion and love for all animals. When I was a kid I called every animal “my friend”. I have had all types throughout my life including various reptiles, bunnies, cats, and dogs.
Currently I have a 13-year-old Shi-Tzu named “Lola”, An orange Tabby named “Oliver”, and a Beagle named “Ziggy”.
My goal in life is to always be around animals. I plan on pursuing a degree in Animal Science at Cal Poly Pomona and becoming a veterinary technician.
I have been a Kennel Supervisor at MDD for several years now, while I work my way through college.I love taking care of all the dogs here and I ensure they get lots of love and affection!
Although it may be a bit messy at times, I take my job very seriously and care for each of our guests individually. I have built close relationships with many of the dogs here at MDD, and they all have a special place in my heart. If you haven't tried our services as of yet, I encourage you to do so!

Jessica Berg
Certified Pet Dog Trainer
My Doggies Daycare
My father Tim Berg has been a well-known OC Dog Trainer for over 30 years. I have been extremely fortunate to apprentice under him. We have always been surrounded by a wide variety of breeds and behaviors. Over the years I have sharpened my skills and learned the importance of using body language to communicate.
We have trained blind dogs, wolves and large aggressive dogs.
I believe that different dogs benefit from different types of behavior modification. I use
a variety of training methods ranging from clicker training to positive reinforcement.
My goal is to put you in charge with the ability to control your dog's daily activities. Training builds a strong bond of trust between you and your dog because it teaches your canine companion to look to your for approval in eveything he does!

Pilar Brittain
Dog Groomer
My Doggies Daycare
Some of you may remember me working in the front office for several years. I was the MDD Office Manager until I decided that I wanted to pursue grooming full time.
Prior to coming to My Doggies Daycare, I managed a grooming facility in Irvine where I became familiar with all the different types of coats and haircuts. We have taken grooming to the next level at MDD, by having a wide assortment of products and tools that leave your dogs coat looking it's absolute best! We also include a "report card" with every haircut so that you will know if your dog has any issues (ear infection, broken nail, cists...etc) and our recommendations for brushing and coat care.
Although I miss getting to see everyone in the front when they drop off their dog for daycare; I feel like I have found where my heart wants to be. I am so excited to be a full time groomer and will do my very best to ensure that your furry friend has an enjoyable grooming experience.

My Doggies Daycare
I’ve always been an animal lover. My family adopted their first dog when I was two and we had him for sixteen years. He was a white wheaton terrier with long gray ears. I grew up loving and learning from our pets. I honestly don’t remember a time when we didn’t have a furry friend. I recently rescued a 2-year-old pit bull. His name is Butch and even though this breed doesn’t have the best reputation, he is a very sweet boy; both playful and loving. He has become a very special part of my life and I am grateful to have found him.
I’ve been with My Doggies Daycare for several years now and I can honestly say I really enjoy my time there. Before I started grooming, I had several office jobs and took a few classes trying to discover my “niche”. When I first apprenticed under a "master" groomer, I discovered that grooming a dog is a work of art. It takes an artistic eye and a lot of patience to do what groomers do. It really makes me feel proud when I see how good a dog looks after I finish grooming him or her.
I am experienced in all breed cuts and can customize any trim to meet your specific needs. Please be assured that I will always do my best to ensure your boy or girl has a good grooming experience and lots of hugs and kisses from me!

My Doggies Daycare
Since I was a young girl, I have always wanted a pet. I love dogs, but worried that I wouldn't be able to take proper care of them. Finally seven years ago I decided that with my kids older, I had enough time to give a dog the love and attention she deserved. We chose a toy poodle, and named her "Ty". She quickly became a member of our family, and just a year later we adopted a companion for her; another toy poodle, this one named "Toby".
After bringing these two wonderful canines into our home, I started to realize that perhaps my true calling would be to work with animals. While attending grooming school, this calling turned into a passion. I love being able to work with breeds of all sizes and temperments and to take a "grungy" looking pooch and make him look like a show dog!
My clients
know that I will take great care with their pet,
and he/she will come back looking fantastic! I
am experienced in many specialty styles and clips
for all sizes and breeds. If your dog is a little
shy, nervous, or apprehensive – don’t
worry. While in my care, your pet will receive
the individual attention and tender loving care
that it deserves.
Plus we have over 30 dedicated, caring dog lovers on
our staff!
All are certified in Pet First Aid & CPR.
